JP Passport Index
A passport index scored for the family holding the passport rather than for the market selling it. The standing indices count the destinations a passport enters without a prior visa, which measures where a holder may land and leaves out what the issuing state can still do to them afterwards. A passport can be revoked. It can fail to pass to children born abroad, carry military service, require that every other nationality be given up, or follow its holder with a tax bill wherever in the world they live.
Four axes, scored and published separately, never combined into a single number. Mobility, weighted by the places a family travels to and banks in rather than counted flat. Retention: revocation powers, the presence a state requires to keep the document, and transmission to children born abroad. The claim the state keeps on the holder: taxation that follows citizenship, charges on renunciation, whether renunciation is permitted at all, and conscription. Protection: consular reach measured against the evacuation record in Kabul, Khartoum, and Beirut. The methodology will be published before any score is, as the Risk Index's was.
